I currently own a 96 Contour GL and am wondering if anyone knows which color wires are for what on the top and bottom O2 sensor.

My goal is to hook up a air/fuel meter. The car is very sluggish on a start from a red light and at about 10-15 mph, it takes off like a rocket. No check engine light tho.

Also is the stock O2 sensor a 0v-1v or a 0v-5v?

Other info:
Changing the CD4E transmission is a pain, just completed successfully and painfully.

I don't see how an a/f guage is going to help in this situation. the factory sensors are narrow band sensor, ie 0 to 1v. an a/f guage isn't going to tell you much.

actually a air/fuel gauge can tell you alot.

The main thing I am trying to see is if the car is running very lean, or very rich at the point of the sluggish responce. If it is lean I can possibly have a cloged or partially blocked injector. If it is rich, I can have a problem with the airflow to the intake.

Either way, I still need to know what wires do what....

don't know the wire colors, but it seems to me that if it had the situations you mentioned there would be a check engine light on. Did you do a scan to check for codes?

took it down to the local pep boys who do free scans, and it popped out nothing. I had a feeling the bulb may be burned out in the dash, but I checked that and it did not illuminate.

They verified with the scanner.
