...has a lot of good info on engines used in our cars.Worth a look round...We get the mag every month or so but the site also has LOTS of build/rebuild info for the 2.5/3.0 and 2.0 Zetec...search around a bit...

Looks like Ford Europe figured out where the noise was exactly coming from... #8 cap on the front bank.

Is it my old eyes or is the second picture with the cylinder head transposed? It looks as if the exhaust camshaft should be on the left side.........

...memory test here as I have some of the earler Ford docs on this issue.later engines had the waterpump drive off the intake cam. Some also did not have a belt tensioner but an 'elastic' type belt which was also,at one time,thought to be the cayuse of the tick Re angle of tension on the cam bearings etc..
