..as promised, a few pics of the M/C shop etc. The newer CNC mill is the Hass, older blue unit is a Hurco. Also a shot of a tower part being m/c, some of our tools/cutters and a shot of some CAD with a new die part that is being worked on. Not much that we can't m/c up to around 20" X 30" for a solid piece of metal.

Man, I knew you were busy but I had no idea. Very impressive! A friend of mine managed a machine shop back in the day. He was especially fond of the CNC machine. Your new equipment is light years ahead of what Scott had to work with back in the mid 80's (I'm guessing).

Is the HAAS a 3-axis machine? My son-in-law in the Air Force runs a new 5-axix HAAS with FeatureCAm software and my older brother runs a 3-axis HAAS with MasterCam.software....I just have a lowly 3hp variable speed Lagun with x-y axis DRO...all manual.......well Christmas is just around the corner...wink...wink. All kidding aside the shop looks righteous!

..Arnold is the m/c shop man and I think the Hass is the 3 axis. Arnold has 25+ years tool/die/toolroom experience and is a second gen aerospace m/c shop etc and knows his stuff, can make the Hass 'sing' when going full chat on a complex job!! Most all MTX casing mods are done on the Hass as it has most all the MTX75 dimensions etc set up on various m/c progs we have written re casing mods to go with late 3 piece output shaft on an early 2 piece shaft case, case m/c mod for an MTX in a Noble, in fact every type of MTX75 mod we have ever come up with has it's m/c prog software written to run in the Hass.

I'll get some pics of the wire burning too , we use that on the tower mods.
So as you can see HMS Inc is not just Contours and MTX's...we can design/make/repair etc. We can work with you from an idea right thru to a proto or solid part , a lot of experience here!!!

...WIRE BURN !!!!!!

OK, the two pics are of a PM/Sinter tower part being wire burnt in our fixture. This is used because PM is VERY hard to cut with conventional tools and we have found this is the best way to work with this material.
The second pic is the cutting, the white/bright area of the part is HOT..in fact WHITE HOT METAL CUTTING!!!..hence the flashes/sparks on the pic.
After parts are cut/m-c they are put into our check fixture. The bun & M/C must be 100% correct, zero tolerance or the parts will not re assemble!!

I missed this post! Thank you for your comments..We now also have a larger weld/fab shop so very little is outside our ability to fab, weld or m/c....
