Continuing my wrestlemania with the doors on this "project" car, the driver's side rear door..... I had it open the other day, and now for the life of me nothing will open it. The lock button seems to be stuck in the LOCK position (pressed fwd and in) but when you cycle it to UNLOCK and hold it you can hear a small click. Opening the door handle either inside or outside produces nothing, not even a shakeable rattle. The door mechanism is securely grasped onto the look stud on the door frame. I have a slim-jim, but for the life of me can't find anything down there to grasp onto.
Since the door is closed, I can't take the door panel off to investigate the lock mechanism. Member Gar has been kind enough to send me a new/used driver's side rear door mechanism, but that all pre-supposes that I can get the door open. Removing the hinge bolts is one idea, but the rear is still securely grasping onto the lock stud.
Ideas, please?

Thanks. I removed the trim piece on the door handle, thinking I could manipulate the lock cable via that access. No joy so far.
The area to shoot for when using the slim jim is right over the door handle. Have you take'n the door off the hinges and having someone hold it while you get all of the screws out of the door panel? W/a door knob screw driver it is do-able. You know the bent kind that gets into tight spaces.

No, I'd really like to get it open with the door installed to save re-alignment/re-mounting headaches. I'll go try that spot with the slim-jim. Thanks for the help.
