Hello FCO!

I've been browsing this forum on and off for years but did not register until a couple of days ago. I live in Ottawa, ON and drive a 1999 SVT Contour during the summer and a 1998 V6/MTX Mystique LS during the winter. Previously, I drove a 1995 V6/Auto Contour LX, my first Contour which has since been scrapped due to corrosion.

I enjoy driving Contiques over other cars because I like their handling/feedback, size, dimensions, and overall balance. They have as much power as I need. I find that most automotive innovations since the Contour was discontinued are mostly superficial and not particularly relevant to my needs.

I don't take the best care of my cars, but I keep them tidy and don't beat on them. My SVT has lived with dashwarp throughout my four years of ownership to my shame -- mostly because it hasn't been a practical issue and I'm afraid of botching the interior. My SVT has been free of mechanical issues during my ownership, but at 11-12 years of age and 83k miles on the odometer, I probably need to begin some maintenance such as cleaning the UIM and LIM. I haven't had the time or space in recent years to dive into this new territory for me, but I'd like to try before the end of summer.
