Yesterday I "finally" took my car to get straightened out from the changes I made last year. The car overall ran ok, but the top end was flat and it was running pig rich. With a little tuning (which I know the tuner was being conservative on pushing the engine - because I asked him twice if he was going to push it a little and he resisted)...

Any matter, the fuel trims are correct - The integrator looks good (fuel mix) and the car drives like it rolled off the assembly line.

Looks good but at the top end I'd say add a bit more spark..can you get the spark advance from say 5>6500 RPM and the point that the spark is hitting max? You have more than enough fuel to accept a slight increase in spark advance,say in 2 deg steps..would make more use of the rich top end and extend the power band a bit without det.

I believe he said he was around 33-36 degrees total spark at the top end. I edged him to give it more, but for every 2 degrees it only raised the HP 1-2... He wasn't comfortable pushing the engine harder even though I signed off on it.

Did your usual guy do the tune?

No, it's my backup tuner... He's pretty good on the bigger engines (i.e. 3.8 / 4.6....). These he is still getting warmed up to.

Is your original tuner still available? If not does this tuner have a shop name and address?

Yes to both. My normal tuner is a "tuner without a dyno".. Which puts me in an interesting situation. My other tuner is subcontracted, he works with a local dyno when needed.

I can provide info for both.

Nice results. Power falls off earlier than I'd expect but it looks very strong.
