so driving hom from work yesterday my car starts making a horrible knocking, i want to say its NOT a rod knock, only because ive experienced rod knock many different times,

this sounds like its coming from the timing chain area.

any idea what i should look for/ common issues?

heres a vid i made

Wow, the sound is really muffled in that video but it does sound like a rod knock to me. A rod bearing failed will cause the piston to contact the valves on a specifi cylinder that is bad and sound like it's coming from the top of the engine. However, it starts at the bottom and works its way up.
