Greetings! I'm new to FordContour.org - so forgive me if this question has been asked/answered, or if it's in the wrong place! My 2000 Contour SVT is having some problems... Yesterday it cut out on my wife and kids after an 80 mile drive. It has died on me a few times when the fuel is at about 1/4 tank - but always started again after a few minutes of "down time." Now it just cranks, but won't fire. I can hear the fuel pump cycling when the key turns. I don't think it is the ignition or timing, but I will check when I get off tonight.
Any thoughts or help you can give would be very appreciated!

Thank you for taking a look! Right now there's a bit over half a tank - maybe 5/8ths...

If you can hear the pump running, chances are the pump is ok. There is a schrader valve on the fuel rail that you can test for fuel pressure.
I would suggest checking for spark next.

Thank you again. Checked the Schrader on the fuel rail, nothing, not even a drip. Also checked the fuel pump cut-out on the kick panel (even though I can hear the pump) I have spark though. My next thought is to check/replace the fuel filter. I did notice no rpm jump on the tach when turning over. That wouldn't explain no fuel pressure at the rail though, so I don't want to go on a goose hunt...
I love my SVT..! I sure appreciate any/all help getting it back on the road..!

Did you ever find the problem? Good luck.
