Just thought I would take a min. and say hi to everyone. I picked up a SVTC a couple a weeks ago for cheap. I work as a motorcycle mechanic and this car was traded in with a rod knock so I got it for a steal. I paid $300 for it. The car is pretty nice, the interior cleaned up nice but Im still trying to get the smell out of it (sat for 5 years closed up). The body is in good shape except for a dent in the left front fender and a dent in the hood. I got lucky and found a 2004 Taurus engine with 30,000 miles on it for $250 so I am starting the swap on Tuesday. Im pretty sure I have everything to do it and I dont think it will be too bad to do.
My other vehicles are a 93 Taurus SHO that I have done alot of work to, its a fun car to drive but it has almost 300,000 miles on it. The engine still runs great and doesnt burn a drop of oil. I also have an 89 Mustang that Im working on. It should be a fun car when Im done. I am building an all out 347 for it. A buddy of mine has a similar engine combo to what Im building and his makes right at 550 Hp. I am going a little more over the top than him with better heads and a MUCH larger cam. lol I also have a 2010 Rossi edition Yamaha R1. Its my sunday afternoon summer ride. The sound the engine makes with the cross plane crank and uneven fireing order is addicting.
Im sure Ill be asking questions as I go and maybe hope to answer a few also.

Hi Guys a Merc Mystique V6 LS owner from Canada
Dropping in from the "broken" contour.org site where I was so close to a Heat Shield group buy from KCobra...if your out there im still so very interested!!!
Slowly making SVT type changes to my car with terrific unreal help from Chris owner of CTA Motorsports in Brampton Ontario
Desperate to get my old sway bar off and new BAT 21mm installed Chris..late on a friday night...showed me how
and stopped me from jumpin....if only into the cement pit in my shop floor..I was so frustrated
He also helped me pick an SVT flywheel and clutch unit that has really changed my car
Other mods...BAT water pump....DMD crank damper...Big SVT type brake kit for front brakes...unreal improvement...Cosmo short shifter
red line shift and emer leather boot.Anyway before boring everybody to death...this 62 yr old Canuck will sign off and hope that
I didn't break to many forum rules as this is all new to me...and I know..windbag has been mentioned before
but in a former life was a photojournalist lucky enough to cover 76 Olympic Games Montreal Canadiens-Alouette(football)Expos//now in Washington
thanks so much for this site
doug
NOW this is sad...just realized i said my two cents long ago...sorry...sorry...told u i was an old man

You aren't lying. The sound of the R1 is very distinctive and addictive. If I were a little younger I might get one, but my back and balls like the more upright seating position of my VFR800.

I've got a buddy with a '91 SHO that's over 300,000 miles as well. Daily driver. The old SHOs are becoming kinda popular in the Lemons and Chump-car series because they are inexpensive to find, lightweight, and quick. As long as the tranny can hold up, they usually finish very well. Check out FordBastards.com. It's a quiet site but most of the guys own older SHOs. I've been slowly tinkering on a '96 V8 SHO for the last year. It's my 3rd V8 SHO and probably the 10th Taurus I've owned. Never owned a V6 SHO though.
