made it to my destination yesterday when i realized my car was overheating...
noticed a hole had made its way through a hose that was suppose to be going around/above the plastic casing around the spark plugs and NOT underneath it... pinning it against another pipe...
so... bone dry on coolant. carefully made it to small shop just down the road to purchase coolant (this is where i actually discovered the hole)... mechanic there snipped out the section with the hole and reattached the two separate ends with an 'extender' for lack of a better word (two male pieces that slid into each end of the hoses.)... with full reservoir of coolant i head home. still over heating. friends have mentioned possible 'air lock'. [note: heater inside of car isnt putting out any heat... luckily the temp is warm and i dont need any defrosting]...
ive tried running the engine with the cap off the reservoir as suggested by a friend...to help 'burp' the car... but alas... no dice.
suggestions... ?

Air lock = Air pocket lodged in the cooling system that is preventing the coolant from properly circulating around. Honestly the car should burp itself, I've found at times that revving it to 2,000 RPM's with the cap off allows the coolant to circulate better. However, if the car is overheating - You may have very well baked the headgaskets or have some other cooling issue that won't go away with bleeding/burping.

fill the coolent tank then take the temp. sensor off this will release the air in the system then put it back on when water starts to flow out hope this helps

Ensure car is pointing up hill (cap is the highest point) run heat on high and rev the engine...
