On a 1998 Mystique GS, how do I remove the driver's side mirror glass along with its attached plastic backing plate from the mirror housing without damaging the mirror glass, backing plate, and mounting clips/tabs?
Thanks in advance.

The mirror backing snaps into the motor. You can pop the glass out by gently pulling the mirror to one extent and using your hands to pull the glass and backing out towards you. It will pop out, and the glass is removable from the plastic backing.

Thanks for the prompt response, Dom. So this procedure is not unlike the one I've employed on my 2000 Taurus mirrors. I just wanted to make sure there was no special trick, e.g., requiring the insertion of a screwdriver in some manner to release the clips. I didn't want to pull blindly and end up with a cracked mirror or baseplate (or bleeding fingers).
Cheers!
