I just joined the site today. I own "twin" 1998 Ford Contours SE V6. I purchased my light blue Contour in the Fall of 1998. My father purchased a dark green Contour one week later. My light blue Contour is now being driven by one of my children who is off at college and has 199,000 miles on it. Last month, I purchased my Dad's dark green Contour that has been garaged and taken very good care of, having only 49,000 miles. The cars have had some similar mechanical issues. Right now, both have front driver's side windows that will not work. I am looking for a good source to buy replacement parts. Also, the light blue Contour needs new SE buttons on the sides. Does anybody know where I can purchase trim parts?
These cars are both great and I plan to keep them for a long time! I washed both of them and parked them in the front yard and took a picture. They both look great! We nickname all of our cars. The light blue Contour is "The Bluebird" and the dark green Contour is "The Green Hornet".
I will also add that I grew up as a NASCAR fan and a Ford fan and have been driving Fords for many years. I currently own 5 Ford Vehicles and my Dad owns two Lincolns. I have been following NASCAR since 1963 and that year I was a fan of the HOLMAN MOODY Race Team, including Fred Lorenson and Glen "Fireball" Roberts. I was listening to the 1964 World 600 on the radio when Roberts had his fatal crash, this week 48 years ago. In recent years I have been to NASCAR races at Atlanta, Talledega and Indianapolis. I always root for the Ford drivers, which right now basically means Roush Racing, the Woods Brothers and Petty Enterprises. I am glad that Penske Racing is changing back to Fords for next year. I am not the kind of fan that likes to see wrecks, rather I like to see good close clean racing.
I own "twin" Contours-Need Source for spare parts

My 98 also was suffering from the SE emblems peeling. I couldn't get them so I replaced them with 24V DOHC emblems purchased on ebay. they are cheap if you can find them.
I just went to ebay and typed in (24v dohc emblem) and found a bunch of them.
