FWIW, I drain and refill the transmission fluid 2x like Terry suggested.
Drained and refilled about 3.5 qts each time.

Completed 150,000 trouble-free miles

Scangauge Temperature and MPG readings

For anyone interested, here are the readings that I see with my Scangauge E, attached to the OBD II connector:

Water temp: 186 when the car's moving. Can reach 212 when idling and hot
(Recently changed coolant)

Intake air temp: A few degrees more than the outside temp. Typically 78. Upto 108 when idling
(Stock intake)

City MPG: 16
Freeway MPG: 31
Average: 24
(87 octane gas)

The Scangauge also displays trip fuel costs, day fuel costs, trip CO2 emissions, day CO2 emissions, open/closed loop, RPM, speed and voltage.
Of course, it can read OBD II codes.
