  1. You said you changed the fuel filter and the fuel pump..... was that because the car quit running? when you now turn on the key do you hear the FP spin up? As Dom was saying the timing belt could be the real issue, How many miles on the car? If it is over 60k Id start looking at the timing belt. there is an upper inspection cover that you can remove to inspect it. Regards, AF
  2. Hi Trevor, these issues can be very frustrating for sure. First please tell me the car info; year, trim level, stick or auto, engine, miles, and anything else about the cars history. Regards, AF
  3. The issue could be that the preloading on the VCT wasn't done correctly, or the cams weren't locked into place. Only way I know to correct is take it apart and redo. Was the cam sensor replaced? Was the wiring and connector checked? Regards AF
  4. Yes indeed WELCOME..... So tell us a bit about that car.... Was it properly maintained? Garaged? It is always good to start doing maintenance on a regular basis. Belts and hoses are a good place to start. Regards, AF
  5. Way to go, what was the price?
  6. I got mine on ebay. I think you only need to get one for a Contour or Mystique. make sure it is for the correct year. I haven't got an extra one for my mystique but I've gotten several for my Contours. They were a reasonable price and all worked. AF

  8. The valve covers are different. Just look at a known early one 95-98 and compare to yours. If the same it is early, if not it is VVT. AF
  9. The difference has to do with variable valve timing in the later Zetec. AF
  10. Hello, I like a Continental Contitech kit, but I don't know of a kit that includes a water pump. Be sure to check out info on replacement procedures and using the proper tools will make it go much better. Terry Haines posted a lot of info about this. Regards, AF
