  1. Here is my next question since I am not car savy when you say (rod fell off due to failed bushings) are we talking about the heads or which rods? Also how much is an exaust manifold gaskets going to cost me to get it repaired? Also do you have a guideline you can share with me to change this intake gaskets? Thanks
  2. You are correct once it warms ups it worked correctly, and yes I do get scared it will turn off and i do step on the gas and it does continue to run. If I do not step on the gas ocassionally it does turn off. Thanks for the prompt reply.
  3. Hello Everyone, I have been out for a couple of months from this forum and now I am back. I need some help my car in the mornign only when I drive up to a light it shuts off sometimes it acts like it wants to die, but other times the RPM go down to zero. No service engine soon light or anything that can tell me what is going on. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks
  4. BuckeyeSVT do you know the size Tork hex bit used to remove the Belt tensioner? Thanks John
  5. yes the Elbow wherethe PCv Valve sits on its very yukky and filled with grease and ooil.. The other part where the PCV gets connected to that piece broke so ia m just inserting it to the PCV and that is it.. Its a long Plastic tube that clicks into the side of the PCV Valve that is the one that broke. Do you know anything else that could happen when the PCV system goes bad???
  6. Hello everyone I am just curious to know if anyone here knows what is going on. I recently checked my air filter and its had oil spot on the top righ hand corner. It was not extremely wet, but you can tell that oil has been in there and is dried. I am just trying to get an idea of what is going on. I researched and it told me it might be my PCV valve that could be clogged up. I changed the PCV Valve like 8 months or more ago I do not remember. I recently changed it yesterday. My car is a 1998 Ford Contour SE V6 2.5L Manual Transmission. Any help will be apreciated. Thanks John
  7. To get this Fixed what exactly do i need to do? I know I do not have to buy another Pawl correct? To me it sounds like the three cables got unhooked from eachother... Would you assume that is what might happened? Also where can I get the Ford CD?? I have been using Chilton's Online repair manuals...
  8. Terry I need to ask a question since you guys are talking about emergency brake.. Ok My emergency brake has nevered worked. It even got worse when I replaced the rear brakes.. The Handle just got more tougher to pull up. Someone in another Forum suggested I need to change the Pawl in my Had brake assenbly in the console. I went to the Junk Yard and got another one. The problem is now. My hand Brake now became very loose. Like no force needed to pull all the way up. When I pull back and forth I can hear something banging in the bottom of my car... Can you suggest what to do next? or what got loose in my car?? Also do I need to buy all 3 cables? Also how to you replaced them.. I know you have to remove the heat shield... Do I need to lower down the muffler? Thank in Advace John
  9. Thanks Terry.. Here is Dallas Texas we are paying $3.20 a gallon.. they said for use to expect to pay $4.00 by July... Also any other tips you have as far as things to add to my car to save fuel??? Like Air filter PCV valve??? or anything that you can think off thanks John
  10. Also Terry when I bought the part from the Ford house the Teflon O Ring was already fitted in the part so all the Orings and everything where pre installed in all the parts that I bought from there.. Not the only thing that I did forget was to put Teflon tape in the pressure hose like you stated below.. i will do that this weekend.. I really cannot miss anymore work.. Its not leaking at the time... Thanks for the advise you guys rock!!!!!! John
  11. Firehawk 618 the reason why I replaced my PSP was because I notice that a loud whissing noise was comming from there.. i will assume mine was running dry... I did notice that I had to fill up my reservoir like every 2 weeks... After that I knew I had a big leak. Also my steering wheel sometimes I could not longer turn left or right with one hand I had to use both hands... When you do go and check the leaks you will notice how hard its to get to those hoses and well maybe you will be like me.. Since you are now there I will go ahead and do eveything. DO not do what I did change one thing at a time and then go back eveyr couple of days and disassemble eveything all over again. Once you are there do eveything.. Now that is what I think.. I am not sure what others will think. To me this was not a hard task but a very frustrating at sometimes and very time consumming...
  12. Yes I know all about tork bits... I had to buy a set for the steering pump screw... I am learnign as I go thanks John
  13. Hello everyone once again I have another question for my car... I recently changed my power steering pump and I noticed something that is bothering me a little.. When I placed the serpentine belt back into all the pulleys... I notice that when I was making sure the bolts in the power steering pump where tigh enough so the pulley will not fell off.. I was able to turn the Pulley with a little effors.. Does that mean that the Tension Pulley is not working anymore?? Also one more thing that kinda tells me that it can be faulty, but I need you guys to help me figure it out.. is that My car when it rains outside and let say I ran into a puddle my car will want to die and even the battery light comes on, but it does not die, then I heard the belt squeel does that mean the tension pulley is not working?? I recently installed a new Belt so I know is not the belt.. let me know what you think thanks John
  14. Yes you are correct there is a teflon oring that came with it... I checked and recheck and everything looks find... Look forward to my new topic.. I have more questions
