Not sure how long my mother-in-law is going to be around, with cancer and all. Its not getting better that's for sure. So we are packing up the van with the kids and all sort of other crap and driving straight through from Naples to a small town about 1 hour west of Minneapolis.
28 HOURS BABY! It can be done. No stops for sleep. I'm sure Ill do the bulk of the driving, its ok. I like driving.
So we will leave Friday after my wife gets back from work and get there late Saturday/early Sunday just in time to watch the Vikings trounce the Falcons. Well be there for a week and do the Christmas thing there.
It was -12 in Cokato today, and 75 here. Im going to die. I don't even own a single pair of jeans. I have slacks for work and lots of shorts. Now I have to go clothes shopping on top of Xmas shopping
Ill remember to take my pills, probably smoke a j, and maybe hit the bar for a few quick drinks before I attempt this dangerous shopping endeavor.
36 position adjustable dampening. Should ride a bit better than my stock (145k) SVT struts!
Looking at installing them in Tampa with a friend of mine on the 20th or 28th. Shooting for a -1" -1 1/2" drop.
Here are a few pictures of Mace's mowhawk (Chuck Liddell style). I have been buzzing his hair for about two years, and a few months ago for shits and giggles I just buzzed the sides to make a mowhawk. Turned out pretty cool and he really liked it so every 10 days or so I would keep buzzing it down and getting it more symmetrical. So three months later its about 95% symmetrical and this is the second time I took the Mach 3 Turbo to the sides. He has blond hair and it really made a difference in the contrast. He loves it. Its pretty fun for me too. Lots of people give us complements on how cool he looks.
Doing the Muay Thai dance he picked up from Wanderlei Silva in the PrideFC PS2 game
He keeps asking me when he gets to fight Wanderlei. Does not stop talking about fighting and wrestling. And numbers (dunno).
Last night was UFC 86, featuring Quinton "Rampage" Jackson defending his title against the winner of TUF season 1 Forrest Griffin.
I typically bet big on one fight, and bet small on 2 underdogs that have a good shot of winning.
Of 11 fights there are only usually 1 (sometimes none) that catch my eye both as a good matchup and good odds. This fight I will bet $50-100 depending on my confidence level.
There are also usually 2 fights that have good odds, and I usually just bet $10 or $20 on those fights, it makes the fight night a lot more fun.
For my first "fun" bet, I had $20 on Gleison Tibau, who faced Joe Stevenson. Tibau was obviously the better fighter, but got caught by one of Stevenson's nasty guillotine chokes and tapped late in the 1st round. Bummer.
My big money bet was up next, $85 to win $86. I had Patrick Cote, a slight underdog vs one of the best BJJ talents in all of MMA in Ricardo Almedia. This one went the distance, and I scored it round 1 for Almedia and Rounds 2 and 3 for Cote. The judges awarded Cote a 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 split decision. Whoever was the judge that scored 2 rounds for Almedia was definitly huffing paint before the fights.
My last bet, a "fun" bet, was the main event UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. challenger Forrest Griffin.
This was a 5 round fight as it was for a title, not the typical 3 rounds.
Its safe to say that after that fight, Forrest just went up in stature bigtime. He had a more rangy attack, almost chopped Quinton down with low leg kicks, and absolutely tooled Quinton on the ground in round 2.
Rounds 3,4,5 were not as exciting, mostly a kickboxing match. Forrest had the better game plan, and it worked out well for him. The judges scored it a unanimous decision for the new UFC LHW champ Forrest Griffin!
So I bet $105 and made ~$95.
Asside from my first attempt at betting and loosing my original $100 (I didnt even know how to bet properly and had no strategy), I have put in another $100, and now over the course of 3 more events, have won ~$100 on each event for a total of ~$430 in my bankroll.
A good night of fights, a good title match, and I won moneys!!!
Yeh so behind my condo is a decent size pond (~3 acre) with a floating fountain thing in the middle. I can see fish every morning either baitfish or game fish.
So I go out with my undersized rig Shimano spinner, lightweight pole, 6lb. mono and a #3 foxtail Meps spinner. I have 3 casts and my ankles were on fire. My shoes and ankles were covered in fire ants and I now have ~30 bites, some multiple bites as bigh as a half-dollar.
I immediately took the vodka out of the freezer and wiped my legs with it. I heard before that Jack Daniels works right after so I gave it a shot. I was jumping around like a retard in pain/itchyness. So I call my wife and she has this natural clean&free stain remover and she told me to do that. So I soaked it in that crap for a while. Then I called my mom and she said a thick salty paste (salt and water) so I have been spreading that on my legs every 5 minutes.
This sucks. I feel slightly better, but I think it was the two double shots I took when I was cleaning them with the Vodka and the bottle of wine Im sucking on right now.
fudge YOU FIRE ANTS!!!!
So I pretty much am certifiably obsessed with mixed martial arts, I am turning my obsession into money.
I have bet on 3 events. The first event I put down $110 so I could place $10 on each of my pics. I went 8-3 but since I didnt know how to properly bet on straight moneyline bets, I ended up losing almost all of it.
The next event I had dont my homework on moneyline bets, and I deposited $100 and recovered my lost money +20$
Last night was "The Ultimate Fighter" reality TV show finale (on Spike TV) and I won 2 of 3 bets for a winning total of +87.50$
So total of $210 in my deposits and my balance is $322 + $15 in "player points" (free money for winning or depositing money).
I would like to be stay at home dad in 1 year just betting on MMA.
I have my secrets and strategy down. Its only a matter of time.
I wanted a space on the interweb where I could just vent and FCO has a nice blog feature and I like the site so here goes.
Im 28, married (9 yrs), 3 children
Madison Anne(6.5 yrs, named after Federalist James Madison). She is the princess of the house.
Mason Adam (just turned 4, named after anti-Federalist George Mason). He is my prince.
Mila Kayle (just turned 2) named by Mom because IDK. She is 100% fireworks and a constant source of hilarity.
2006 Christmas Day @ Magic Kingdom ^^^
All of my kids are beautiful. My son is tough as nails. I am very proud of them. I did not necessarily have an easy time growing up, neither did my beautiful wife Sally. We met I think I was 14 and she was 15. I believe if there is a higher benevolent power, these children are payback for what we had to endure ourselves as children. Not a day goes by where I am not thankful for my family.
I own a 1998 E1 CSVT. Completely stock with Stage 3 Motorworks full 3L/tune and Pioneer CD player. Power output at wheels roughly 200hp/205tq. Good car. Exterior needs work (nothing major). Interior is nearly flawless especially the leather, although I would replace the carpet if I had the time and I was not so lazy. Its averaging 90F+ and 50%+ humidity until the sun goes down. You can do something as simple as changing your battery and work up a serious sweat.
Mornings here (Naples, FL) are ~80% humidity @75+F. You walk outside in the morning into a sauna.
I am senior estimator for a structural concrete contractor that specializes in tilt-up wall systems. Most estimates I produce are in the range of 200k-3.5mil. I am successful at this because I used to be in the field and it gives me an extra edge over my competition.
So that is my first ever interweb blog post.
