BuckeyeSVT got a reaction from Cheri in Is the 2.5 svt worth rebuilding
Honestly that's up to you. Unfortunately most of the 3.0L's are high in mileage anymore so a used engine is probably out of the question when it comes to 3.0L's. Depending on your area, you may be able to find a lower mile SVT engine (I found a 63K used 2.5L SVT (VIN G) engine in MN for $850). So the choice is yours to make, you can also go re-manufactured - But beware the cost will be substantial for the engine but everything will be refreshed and have a warranty on it.

BuckeyeSVT got a reaction from tlc314 in EGR Valve
Mostly the EGR Valve itself doesn't plug up - It's the EGR passage in the Upper Intake Manifold behind the throttle body that plugs up. Take a look at the pic I included below (This pic has the throttle body removed) and you can see the passage where the EGR discharges and runs around the throttle body and comes out through the 3 small outlets I have circled. Clean that entire passage and the EGR outlet from the passage. You will need a new throttle body gasket (and EGR valve gasket) if you plan on doing it correctly. Remove all the old gasket material off of the throttle body and the UIM before installing the new gasket.

    That's it.

That mount is a cross type mount, there are 4 gaps around the mount bracket itself.... It's normal.

Let's work this out... By the codes.

    P0171 - Overly lean condition LTFT 25%+ Bank 1
    P0174 - Overly lean condition LTFT 25%+ Bank 2
P0136 - Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 lower sensor)
    P1131 - Lack of O2 Sensor Switches - Lean Bank 1
    P1151 - Lack of O2 Sensor Switches - Lean Bank 2
P1506 - Idle Air Control (IAC) Overspeed Error.

All those codes mean you have a nasty vacuum leak. You have something disconnected, or broken or a gasket that is ripped or torn.

What else have you done to the car?? Something tells me there may be a bigger story.

If the clock is missing there is no harness to speak of. Do you need the diagram of the factory clock with PATS?

I built it..lol. Talk about insanity... The SVT motor is probably a fun ride as well.

BuckeyeSVT got a reaction from Rish in ford service cd
There used to be a site called FordCD's.com that was around to download the service manuals, however Ford had them shut down. Now, there isn't any actual places to download it anymore unless you look on the fringes of the internet (like torrent sites or Emule). There are some interesting people making money on Ebay selling the CD's as well... However they only give you one model and for what they charge it's not worth the money.

Wheels are ASA AR6 18x7.5. Tires are Sumitomo HTR 3's, summer tires (300 Treadwear, AA Traction and A Temperature). I receieved a pretty good deal on all 4 so I decided to go 18 instead of 17".

I was debating going with the SVT Focus 6 spoke 17x7 wheels, however it would still look too "stock" IMO and it seems like everyone has European Mondeo wheels.. I'm not a follower, I normally buck the trend

Now my brakes look puny... I know what's next.

Here's the final pics of my SVT being done. I am just getting all the small things out of the way like the roof antenna and compound in the cracks.

New wheels came courtesy of Tire Rack, we stopped there while we were in Indiana picking up an SVT. We drove a half hour with a car on a trailer to the Tire Rack and looked at the wheels first hand. I ordered them, they mounted and balanced them and we were on our way with 4 new wheels and tires in the back of the truck..lol.

Here's some shots, bigger screen shots can be found in my gallery.

I think it looks way better in person as the pics don't show the flip to purple in the blue like it does looking at it.

    Enjoy.

BuckeyeSVT got a reaction from dichay in Misfire Issues on Full 3L... I'm at a loss...
Full Oval port injectors have an optimized spray pattern, they are going to work better than the split port injectors. Your misfire issue could be from alot of things, do you have the EGR hooked up at all? Off idle misfires are from severe vacuum leaks, failing injectors or ignition problems. All honestly should be diagnosed by someone who knows these engines - As I'm sure you know by now, they are not easy to work on.

I imagine I could find the issues quickly and get the engine in shape to tune.. As a engine tuner is only as good as the engine builder. Crap in, crap out... as they say.

I use the Ford Escape pumps as a replacement for the Contour/Mystique and Cougar when they fail. The pipe is similar and needs a small tweak to work.

E3's, Pulstars, RapidFire and SplitFire plugs are all gimmicks. Don't even get me started on the Bosch +3/4 crap.

Seriously, stick with Autolite (APP104 - V6) or Motorcraft Double Plats (AGSM32FM - V6) and you'll be just fine.

BuckeyeSVT got a reaction from SVTDEMON in Custom camshafts NOTICE!
To current and future customers for Custom Camshafts...

    Please Note:

    A. The camshafts are being ground by a dealer in Canada B.C. These are going outside our borders and are subject to customs delays.
    B. Shipping time to and from itself with no work, round trip is 10 working days. This accounts for time in customs and brokerage.
    C. Normal lead time for the camshafts is 3-5 weeks - Do not plan on installing these 2 weeks after ordering as that would be illogical!

Now that we have that out of the way, there is one more note:

There is a current QC delay on the camshaft orders. We have discovered a possible issue with the grind that could be just a one off issue but the vendor is stopping deliveries until this problem is checked and corrected. Do not take this as a problem, but an assurance that neither the vendor nor I want to put out a subpar product and have customers with issues after the sale. I take pride in what I do and sell, and would expect nothing less from my vendor. I appreciate the patience (1 week) while this issue is looked into and verified. Once the issue is verified we will be back to full swing on order deliveries.

Thanks, and any questions please ask here or PM.

BuckeyeSVT got a reaction from Donnie Ballowe in Injector OHM readings
I know the V6 injectors ohm out around 12.5-14.0.. I've never worked with the Zetec injectors but the 18 Ohms could be just a product of your specific ohm meter. If they are reading OHMs, the coils are good - However.

I would take a test light, grounded to ground. And a ground wire attached to the test needle part. Use the test light to pierce the computer switched side of the injector (non positive side when key is on and injector plug is removed). See if the injector "clicks" when you ground it. If not, the pintles may be "stuck" from sitting and that's a common occurance. Unfortunately if that's the case you'll need to remove the rail and replace the injectors or have them rebuilt.

In the interest of keeping threads clean, if you have your own question to ask please start another thread and it will get answered.
If you are speaking about the black hose that comes off of the top of the transmission - That is a vent hose. Normally there is a plastic clip on the top of the battery hold down rear nut that holds the hose. Otherwise, just route it up (it needs to be up and not down) out of the way and you'll be fine.

I'm no stranger to UK parts... I've been slowly recontenting alot from the Mondeo's into my SVT. I'm curious by the Escape oil pan?? What do you mean you bought it? Are you under the impression that it will somehow safegard the engine from oil issues? If so, you have alot more reading to do here - As we have beat that horse until it's no longer recognizable as an animal and came up with the result of the pan is a waste of time. However, BAT does sell it that way... FWIW it's false advertising (even if they tote the "it changed so it has to be good" b/s). We have alot of years of accumulated knowledge here on these forums, take full advantage of that.
