  1. Found my old thread.... I just got off the off the phone with Greensales. They have confirmed that the Harness Replacement kit PN has been superceeded and the new number is: F5RZ-14K289T6AB. Hope this helps...
  2. Just an fyi... last year I was looking for a new harness for my son's 95 V6 Mystique... kept searching for the number as indicated in the recall. Turns out the numbers had been superceeded... found one in stock from a dealer in Indiana... 525.00 shipped! have your dealer re-check the part number. You may find it at Greensales as well.
  3. TO ALL WHO NEED A HARNESS: I just got off the off the phone with Greensales. They have confirmed that the Harness Replacement kit PN has been superceeded and the new number is: F5RZ-14K289T6AB. Greensales has some in stock, along with Ford's Vintage Parts. According to Ford's parts locater system, there are a few dealers with stock as well. You may be able to get a better price from a dealer than from an outside vendor. Hope this is helpful.
  4. Thanks for the info... hoping to get something better than what I currently have.
  5. Hello to all... I purchased a 95 Mystique LS a few years ago, w/only 33k miles at the time. Now up to 60K, driven by my son back and forth to school. For the past few months, have been chasing the warning light gremilins, most recently having to replace a leaking ABS pump. This resulted in discovering that those 2 connectors have fully exposed, bare wires. The insulation has fallen off. Tried to tape, wrap and silicone, but only marginally better than before. Full examiniation under the hood shows most wires with some degree of insulation failure, some severe. Searched high and low for replacement harness, too late to the party I guess. No luck at all. Waiting to hear back from a few salvage yards, not holding out hope. Bill Jenkins no longer works in Parts at TeamFord in LV (runs sales), waiting to hear back from DOM. I have a 1995 (Build date 11/94) 2.5L, A/T, AC, PS, ABS, Trac Control, need F5RZ-14K289S6AB, but would use 6AA. (I can eliminate the Trac Control/ABS if I have to, would rather not) Question: Does anyone know what year/model I can search the junkyards for each particular harness? Not sure of the break down: engine, Alt, AC-cooling, headlight, injectors??? Would the 2.5L Injector harness be the same for some/all years? So on and so forth... What if any harness can be used from a 2.0L car? Plenty of mechanical experience, not afraid to pull and re-wrap full harness, but would like to reduce wherever possible. Reason: Car is in perfect condition otherwise, no mechanical issues at all, leather interior still looks new. Any and all help appreciated and thanks in advance. delz05

    Tach Troubles

Well...pulled the dash apart, found out I have a cable driven speedo, hope that doesn't let go. Anyway...tach has a burned out circuit board, junkyard swap took care of the problem. FYI...only a V6 tach will swap into a V6 cluster (tach has V6 on face), but inspite of what FORD says, any V6 tach from any year 95-2000, will swap in. I pulled a 96 tach and a late 99 tach, and both worked. I am sure this will hold true for a 4cyl car as well. Speedo wise, it seems that cars built before 02/95 will have a cable driven speedo, unique to themselves. Cannot modify/swap speedo to electronic one. All other gauges and housings will swap.

    Tach Troubles

I have a 95 Mystique LS with the V6 engine, auto trannny and only 36xxx miles. was driving around this afternoon and the Tach jumped from 1800rpms to 3000rpms (engine did not rev, normal operation) and stuck there. Speedo reads proper, everything else seems fine. Banged on the dashboard, needle swept over to lower right, no reading at all. Shut off engine at home, re-started, jumped to 3000, but stayed there again. Apparent Tach issue...any insite? i know the cluster is a simple swap, but is there any issue I should be aware of. Is that tach electronic, is there any voltage regulator on the back of the cluster that should be checked first? Any info appreciated. Thanks!
