  1. thanks, I have made myself a note. I should be working on my oil leak tomorrow and friday nights and hope to get some of the small stuff like this taken care of too. While I'm replying, is there a way to still get the glow gauges? thanks, Paul
  2. I'm just trying to find out what type/size the bolts are that hold the airbag onto the steering wheel? The top of the airbag is loose. Should I do anything before tightening them, like unplug battery, etc. thanks, Paul

    Oil Leak

I'll let you know what's going on, I'll probably run by that transmission place in the next few days. I don't have anything to show on mine, just white ford emblems and foglight mod, oh and a warping dash. thanks, Paul

    Oil Leak

Stock.. I'll have to stop by sometime and meet you. You may not want to hang out with a 27 yr old that has two kids though. Terry.. The leak appears to be coming from behind the pulley and I have oil all over the area around it and covering the sensor or whatever it is towards the front of the car down by the pulley. I bought the seal already from ford, I just need time to get all of this done. paul

    Oil Leak

Has anyone ever replaced the front crankshaft seal behind the pulley? I believe this is where the leak is coming from, I cleaned the motor and from the best I can tell that is the problem. I get a lovely burning oil smell if I drive it and a small amount of oil gets splattered on the inside of the hood from the pulley slinging it. Can I use the same bolt on the pulley or do I need to get a new torque to yield one? I will most likely replace the gasket on the oil pan as well. Does anyone in the DFW area know of a place that will inspect the problem for free, preferably a company chain of some sort, i.e. City Garage, etc. I need to get this fixed asap, my sister in law is buying the truck I have been driving so I need to get the car running again. Thanks in advance, will check back later today. Paul

    Oil Leak

I'm stupid when it comes to these engines. Where is the front timing cover located in relation to the main lower pulley? All of the leaking is coming from the lower 1/3 of the engine. I'll be putting it up on ramps tonight and degreasing everything, maybe then I can find the starting point. Thanks for all the info and any further info. Paul

Where is the PAS pump located? I also found somewhere that it could be the intake manifold paul

    Oil Leak

I got under the car last night to change the oil and noticed oil all over the outside of the oil pan. I looked around and noticed it around the lower pulley. Does anyone know what this is, is it the main seal? I'm going to degrease tonight and change the oil and drive it around some this weekend and see if I can get a better idea of where it's coming from. Any help would be great! Paul
