  1. Hey, All. Since the PNW crowd is about the most active on the FCO site, I wanted to give y'all a heads up that I'm having to part with my '00 Contour. I have no space at our townhouse due to the fact that we bought a creampuff Explorer. If you guys are interested, I would be willing to deliver as close as Boise from Salt Lake City.   2. Good Day, All. I want to give a shout out to everyone who helps keep this forum alive. God bless Terry for building this legacy. I had a issue last weekend that this site helped me cure and avoid a $1,500 transmission rebuild. I found this post in the Knowledge Base and it felt like the OP was riding in my car. The transmission position sensor died and it felt like my car was going to puke its guts all over I-15/84. It would freewheel and overspeed and then slam into gear. I pulled over and checked the fluid and it was as red as new fluid and not burned at all. Came home and read this

  4. Once again, Terry's recommendation scores. I replaced my plugs yesterday with APP104 double platinum plugs. Wow. What a difference. Snappier, more pep, smooth idle. We'll miss Terry greatly. Thanks for all you did, Brother. Grg
  5. That housing is very poorly designed. Mine was broken, most likely from a rookie at jiffy lube. Had the same wetness problems. Took black form a gasket to glue it into place. No leaks now for 2+ years. Greg

  8. A critter like that usually lives inside the air filter housing. Check under the filter. Greg
  9. I modified my 2000 to have fogs that weren't factory. The switch, lamps, and the relay came out of a 98 sport. Connected everything up and it all worked great. The indicator lamp came on perfectly.

  11. Forgive me if this topic has already been covered. My 2.5 has a periodic shudder at idle from what I believe can best be described as a misfire. It's not showing any change in idle speed, but it can be felt. It has new plugs and doesn't throw any codes. I changed plugs about 5000 miles ago. The old ones must have been original as the electrodes were nearly gone. Has anyone experienced something like this? Thanks in advance. Greg
  12. -cmk033, there's not a discrete cruise cutoff. It's integrated in the brake switch. The typical setup is usually a three contact switch with one for the brake lights, one for cruise, and one for torque converter lockup for a vehicle with an automatic. There usually is, however, a discrete switch for the clutch cruise disable. Greg
  13. Update: there appears to be a leak on the transmission side pan. Terry, or anyone, is it possible to replace that cork gasket without pulling the engine/trans? The servo cover is still dry, it's oozing at the gasket now.
  14. You should be able to see the selector move if the cable is still intact. Look down between the water pump and the battery. Have someone attempt to shift the transmission to see if there's any movement on the selector on top of the transmission.
  15. Ty this: Right click on the icon for the file. Click on properties. Then click on the Compatibility tab. Select the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for: From the drop down, select the operating system that the file used to work well in. Greg
