sinpirate Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 Hi all, I am new to this forum, and have a few questions that I hope some of you folks can help me out with. I have a 1998 Contour SVT. The first thing I need is to replace a broken drivers side tail light. While looking for one I came across an ad that said that it will fit a 98 only if it has a build date before 12/17/97. The sticker on my car simply says build date 12/97. The photo looks like mine. What is the difference? How do I know which one I need? Do different years interchange? mondeoman Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 The 1995 thru 1997 tail light assemblies are the same; the 1998 thru 2000 are the same. That said, the differences are in the flutting in the red lense.
