August 20th Meet in the Portland Area

Recommended Posts

It's that time again! Summer BBQ for all of the Contour enthusiasts and emeritus. We're anticipating a big crowd this year! 1749 Contours! (Ok, well, not that many  :D )

When: August 20th at 2:00pm (food at 3 ish or whenever's clever...there will be no starving!)

Where: 1517 NE 199th St, Ridgefield, WA 98642 (10 miles north of Portland, OR)

Why: Because we can!

Please bring whatever you usually bring to a BBQ. I'll have lots of burgers and dogs, probably some other stuff. We can always make a food run if we run short of something.

I'm also open to working some small projects. I have a shop and tools here. We could knock out oil changes, cabin air filters, maybe even some brakes if necessary. As long as we can accomplish the task in the course of the day I'm open to it. There will be lots of mechanics here.

If we run late enough I'll start up the bonfire. I'm not opposed to a second round of BBQ...if we ever stop the first round!

ALSO, if you're interested in camping, I'm on a 5 acre place. There's lots of room for everyone if you're so inclined. We'd be happy to have you!

So, come one, come all! We're hoping for at least 372 cars!  :bangin:

Since there are some new members in the PNW, should we see if JBalch is available? He still might have a lead to make some heatshields. Do we kidnap Shortyman to do A/C consultations? And the parts car's MTX75 is still reserved for a certain local jarhead.

Are those the plastic mailbox heatshields? I remember seeing a how-to that looked pretty good. I'll stick with my SVT intake though TYVM.

If you can actually spot Shortyman then yes, kidnapping is authorized. I don't know how much A/C equipment you'll fit in the trunk with him in there too! Would be much better if he just drove his green SVT out here.

I have another MTX-75 in the barn that belongs to Mondeoman I think...will cost some $$ but not $10,000!

Satya, I'm depending on you to keep this list updated with all of your peeps and how many people they're bringing!

Mike, JBalch has my metal pudmonkie heatshield and a buddy with a metalshop to perhaps copy it.

If you know someone who wants an MTX 75 for most of $10K, I'd throw in the Quaife and THM forks to get it done.

Where's J Balch? Adam Baker?

Does anyone need a good shape SF jack point cover? Or a new-in-bag unpainted black one? I can bring some along.

A set of SVT front or rear leather seats in MNB?

These are in Portland, I do not expect to bring them to the meet unless someone has a vehicle with larger capacity to move them

Does he want a new untouched unpainted black one; or a SF that's survived miles; or a SF one which looks like it saw action at the Chosin Reservoir?

Call or text me. I'll check for PMs too.

And how might I reach the member who if we'd had a cooler day, might have gotten an svt exhaust installed in his SE during the meet.

Anthony is the kiddo with the pre98 who took the SVT exhaust.. he also just picked up an SVT engine, exhaust and engine stand for 150$!

Good to have him on the team.

I'm not sure I have your number?

If Anthony got an SVT engine AND exhaust, maybe he won't want the one from the parts car?

I'll send you a PM with the phone #.
