Manuel Valdez
Hello, This is for a 95 2.5, when I start the engine, it leaves a smell of fuel, but only when cold, when it is hot it doesn't leaves the smell. Any ideas about what it could be?
2000SVTC
Where is the smell? Out the exhaust, under hood, inside car?
Manuel Valdez
Hello, It is outside the car, the exhaust, never in the inside of the car or under the hood. Edited November 9, 2017 by Comano
francispennysac
Any updates on this?? I was starting to get the same smell in my vehicle, Not sure if there may be some residual fuel left that somehow isn't being burnt?? I dunno, then again I know my cats are shot, and I would agree on it only doing it cold, once warmed up nothing noticed.. Maybe cold weather plays a factor? (it's been freezing in PA lately) I seem to notice it inside the car a tiny bit but def outside..

Manuel Valdez
If anyone interested, this is an update. At the end I got myself an OBD1 scanner, I found that an O2 sensor was reading allways as lean, this was just one side. The sensor was replaced and the fuel smel is gone...
