12" sub placement

I was thinking that when I get

my Tour of possibly mount 2 12's on the rear deck and then putting Kicker grilles over them is the deck deep enoungh for

12's or not. I'd probably need at least 18" of depth to do it.

Ok-2 12"s in the rear

deck, right? Well, that's never been done, not to say that it's impossible. 8"s and even 10"s I have seen. As a matter

of fact, there is ~18.25" from the floor of the trunk to the bottom of the trunk opening (I measured as though there was a flat

plane under the lowest point of the top).

Here's my suggestion:

Don't put subs in the rear deck;

it's too hard, I would be worried about the sub surrounds baking in the sun in the summer, and honestly, I would be afraid

of the safety aspect-something about a 35lb+ lump flying at me from behind doesn't sound appealing). Instead, the absolute

ideal place would be in the back corners of the trunk; closest to the rear bumper.

If you are set on putting 12"s

in the rear deck, more power to you. Are you going infinite baffle? (free air?) Or are you going to build boxes to hang under

or even support the rear deck?

Sorry so many questions and stuff, you're just wanting to try something I've

never seen in this car and I don't want you to mess up and give up on it.
