well this morning I was able to get the LIM pretty clean. Not sure how much more that I will do on it as it is already 100xs of times better then it was.

D-day

well tomorrow is going to be the day. The SVT LIM, UIM and tb will be installed on my my car. I inventoried all the parts tonight and I am set to go.   I have decided to go with my stock injectors and fuel rail, replacing all the injector o-rings of course. I think this will be the least hassle and because I tripped a P0430 again and I only have about 500 miles to 80k. That and I doubt I would be able to get Ford to cover the PCM reprogram since I have modified the car so much and do not

2 problems solved

2 maybe 3 problems solved. First the bucking and hesitation was the plug wires. Last weekend I put my stock wire back on the car and its running great. Seems like I have been hit this a set of bad Ford Racing Wires. But its not that bad, they lasted since 04 iirc. Also I think the issue comes from the #3 plug. Its the only one that I couldn't feel clip onto the sparkplug. Finally after driving my fathers car today I believe his hesitation problem is the plug wires also as his car acts the

lonely time ...

well it seems that I will not be driving the contour for the next few weekends. Still need to get the car to paint, work sent me to Florida this weekend, again for the 14th and maybe TN later on, going camping next weekend ... what i would give to drive my car at the moment ...

hmmm ... was that the problem?

i think I may have found my charging system problem from last summer today. I was moving the wires around as I am relocating my battery. When I meant to move the possitive and negative battery wires I found they where stuck together. They had begun to melt Well I guess its time to upgrade all of those wires   In addition to finding the above problem I was able to cut the battery tray down as well at mock up the location of the distribution blocks.

observations

the Stage 3+ clutch feels very lite, the stock clutch was way heavier to press to the floor. It does grab very nicely and felt better today already. I have been running it to the top and then letting the rpms fall and making a nice smooth engagement then run it to the top of the next gear. There is some shuttering/slipping on take off but it isn't bad at all. the clutch just grabs.   On the quailfe I am not sure I have felt it work yet. But then again at the top of first it wants to spin the

more progress

Well I was able to pretty much get done what I wanted to get done today. I started off by getting a few more fittings so that I could install the oil pressure sender on my remote oil filter. After that I was ablet o run the wiring and vacuum line to the guages and make some of the connections. At this time I am going to leave the water temp guage disconnected until I can get the sender installed. The vac/boost guage acts as would suspect that it would never seeing one work before. Steady 20 mmHG

the wait ...

the waiting is the hardest part its been way to cold recently to be able to do any work on the SeVT and of course the SVT is about an hour from me in storage so that doesn't help either.   Since its going to be warmer this week I have to think about getting a few things done. I still need to install my water temp sender, but I don't want to drain coolant at the moment, also have new trunk struts to install and I need to rewire the oil pressure guage to the new sender, finally moving it from

its time ...

3L swap has been bumped up from Easter to this weekend.   Once that done I will be aiding Aircougar and Ctmystique in there build for the spring         So got some work done this afternoon. I needed to move my remote oil filter to the passanger side so it would be out of the way for the turbo piping and air filter. So I was able to fit the remote filter on the passanger side by the washer fluid tank I wanted to use two 90 degree fittings for the hoses but was only able to us

excitement grows ...

well i just need to get myself going and on my way home to check out the new parts that showed up.   just got home and I check out the parts. all looks good   The SVT UIM needs aome cleaning and it will be good to go. Need to get a tps sensor for the TB and possible a new cruise control cable. Well I used some eletrical tape on the cruise control cable and it looks half decent so I am going to go with it for now. Beside it doesn't look like the cable can be removed from the bracket e

day two down ...

no pics at the moment but good progress was made today. The 3L is not ported and the turbo oil drain is fitted and sealed up. While that was going on I started getting the engine ready for removal. Started up top and worked to the bottom. I picked up a pair of hose clap pliers from sears that worked great on the coolant hoses. So we started around 11am and wrapped up around 4 ish. The 2.5L motor was stripped down of everything on the engine that was needed. Tomorrow night we will start by

todays work ...

well today I got home and I was first able to take the contour for a drive as the weather was very dry only issue is the CEL is still on for the pre-cat. I either have to take it to the dealer for the TSB PCM reprogram, get mil eliminators or get headers either way the car felt pretty good, maybe a bit sluggish down low but the top end pulls great     So I also took another step on getting the factory alarm installed. I installed the indicator/valet switch led next to the rear view m

lots done today

well the goal of the day was to get two or three coats of Zaino on the car ... and this was partly done but I also somehow got to ripping the interior out of the car too. I think the plan there ultimately to clean the carpet, even if I didn't know it at the time I started. Well the idea for pulling the drivers seat was so that I could pull out the lower trim so that I could install the trunk release handle bezel that I picked up. So after some running around to get the correct torx bit to get th

SeVT time again

had the SeVT out tonight and is all that I can say. I started off first by re-wiring my oil pressure guage to the sender on the remote oil filter. I had run a wire from the oil pressure sender to the water temp guage as I had planned to splice to the correct sensor later on so that I wouldn't have to run any more wires. But what I ended up doing was pulling the wire out and re-running the oil pressure sender wire from the sender at the head to the sender on the remote oil filter. So to re-c

battery relocation finished

finished up my battery relocation last night. Power came right on and the car fired right up The ground is just temporary. When I swap the 3L in the main ground and battery cable will be change. I plan to us a distribition block for the grounds also. I also still have to cut the trunk carpet to fit around my battery tray.     LC-1 and NPG brake kit next hopefully before the 3L, if not they will be the first thing done other then breaking in the new clutch.

frickin idiots ...

yup the "techs" at Firestone are fucking idiots. They set the drivers wheel at 0 degrees toe and the passanger side at -5/32 toe. on the diferencial they did get the 1/16th toe I asked but it was toe out not tow in  they also set the rear toe to 0 when the previous shop set it at 1/16.   I will be getting money back.   I went to my normal shop this morning and they dialed the car right in. The tech was smart enough to take a torch to the tierod end to get the jamb nut free so that a

found a SFG0 pcm ...

so I finally came across someone with a wrecked SVT that has a SFG0 PCm in it with both original keys This means that I can program my own keys and not have to go to Ford to have it done .... anyone need a SFG2 PCM with one key?   Well I have to wait to see if both keys are available but he said he had them when he picked this wrecked SVT up ... so hopefully he finds them tonight ....

Interior changes

So up on the plate yesterday was some interior changes for the SeVT. I decided after seeing some others cars that i would get a triple guage pod for the second din location in the center console. Along with this, like some others I decided to relocate my radio from the factory location to the second din location in the center console. Some cars, however rare had an external single disk cd player at this location. The radio relocation took me about 2 hours to complete. Over all it wasn't to

SFG0 PCM is good

well I started off yesterday with the plan of swapping in the SVT injectors but I decided I didn't want to lug tools to my grandmothers just to find I missed something that I needed. I will wait and do it at my parents place where there is alittle more room to work int he garage. Anyway I deceided to take the car out since it hasn't been out of the garage since about thanksgiving and give it a run. I also wanted to try out data loging with the Xcal2 I just got. It was frustrating at first to

more gauges

well my order of autometer gauges came in yesterday. My totoal count is now up to 6. I am running A/F, Oil Pressure, Volts, Water temp, Oil Temp and Boost/vac. Last night I was able to get the gauge panel fitted to the car and placed the three new gauges in it to see how they sat. Overall I think its going to look good. Because of the retainer on the autometer gauges i had to tilt them slightly as they wouldn't line up straight, spacing was to tight. But from the drivers seat I believe this will

another good day

well yesterday since it was raining I got my water temp guage wired up. That is now working well.   I was going to install my steel braided hose for the remote oil filter but it didn't ship last night, it went out today and te guy said it would go out yesterday . anyway it is coming tomorrow.   So I didn't want to but I re installed the bumper and mirko onto the car and took it for about an hour drive through stop and go conditions to break the clutch in. There is less studdering/slip

new progress

well I got home last night and I openned a new box that had arrived over the week. I pulled out some purdy lightened and underdriven alternator and power steering pump pullies. The quality is top notch, can't wait to get em installed.     I also received my parts order from Team Ford Parts. I need to double check that the TPS I got is correct but everything else looks good. Got a waterpump belt for maintenece, the TPS, and throttle cable for the SVT TB install. Finally I also got a s
