  1. I am definately an American auto supporter. I have never purchased anything that wasn't a ford for myself- the wife had to have a new cherokee, but at least it's american. I refuse to believe that the quality is better in foreign made cars made cheaper. I think Dom has a point- most folks with the top Japanese cars do take them to the dealership for all maintencance. The warranty is an issue as well. Just recently have the big 3 american auto makers been offering a halfway decent warranty. Honda and the up and coming japanese and korean car makers are offering 100k and have been for a while. That makes a big difference and people aren't complaining about their import being a lemon because it keeps getting fixed. Chrysler's new warranty (lifetime powertrain) was STANDARD when they first starting pushing it, I am not sure if it still is or not. That is a huge step in warranty issues with the top 3. I don't think you should buy anything american just to buy american, but if you research you can find something american that will be exactly what you want. I for one am waiting for the day an awd 6 speed 3.5 fusion comes out- SVT or not.

  2. Hey guys,

I haven't been active much on the boards lately because I have been too busy, and frankly have lost some interest in the tour. I am shocked to see all the mudslinging going on around here. Aren't we a little old for all of this? Isn't this some of the reason we prefer FCO over CEG? I guess I need to do a little research and look into what's been going on, but in the mean time, wow......

  3. At 50 mpg it'll pay for itself in 2 years! My Uncle out in CA owns an All-American Dealership, Buell, Harley, Titan, American Ironhorse etc etc, he's going to freak when he finds out I bought a crotch rocket!

  4. I picked this up today, however I had to pay for mine. We can't all be lucky like Dom!! It was at freedom powersports in kenessaw GA and if anyone is in the market and close, I would give them a shout, they were fantastic.

  5. Without a doubt the hottest tropic green tour out there. I love the way you did the hood/trunk. I remember when you first did it I wasn't really sure, but it has grown on me. Besides, they prob had bubbles anyway coming from CF1.... Hotness man, Hotness.

  6. what is that, like 11 now? How many tours have you owned? The awesome Dark Grey tour that you tore down and rebuilt, did that start as an SE? I saw one in OH for sale that looked a lot like it and I was curious if that was it. How's the sho coming?

  7. If you are just swapping out motors why don't you just put a 3.0 in it? Unless there are other issues besides the motor. I just hate to see SVT cannibalized just because a motor went out.

most folks around here already know the story. I bought the car wrecked, planned on finding an svt with a dead motor and swapping them over. Instead I got impatient and starting dumping money into it to fix it, there are electrical issues with the car, needs a main harness etc etc. Both cars left this morning to L.A. (lower Alabama) for the surgery.

  8. parting it out cause it has issues, hence the reason I'm swapping the motor. The exhaust is suprisingly quiet, however It prob didn't get over 2500 rpm. We'll see after the swap and the headers tho! OB1, I need your addy so I can have msds send the headers to you!

  9. Car is in pretty good shape, needs to be cleaned up a bit. Has 130k miles on it and a lower end knock. It does crank/run cause I drove on/off the tow dolly. Stock other than a stainless bosal cat-back and a drop in k&n. Will be swapping motors with my other tour and most likely then parting the black one out.
