Thanks for the tips! I was able to remove one... took some time to loosen it but it finally popped out. Have you had any luck in sourcing these bulbs out (other than a junkyard)?

What do you mean by "dipped bulbs"?

Hey everyone, I've got a 97 Contour that has most of the bulbs in the high mount brake lamp burnt out. When I remove the cover and access each individual bulb I cannot pull the bulb out of the black socket it's in. The sockets come out of the fixed assembly but the bulbs don't come out of the sockets. Do I need to replace the black sockets with the bulbs? Can't find these anywhere... but it seems that I can find the bulbs at a local auto store (although they're not 2723)... Any ideas?? Thanks!
