Hey Guys, I haven't been on here in ages, but I've resurfaced to shamelessly plug my sale. In all honesty I'd really like the car to go to an enthusiast. I'm in Vancouver BC so chances are small (as I haven't seen many Canadians on here) but I figured I'd post anyway. The car is a '99 silver frost SVT with 212500kms (132041miles). Request #1 for pics please

I'm still waiting for my parts from RockAuto, but since I had some time today I decided to clean the tb and the IAC and EGR passages. What I did learn was duct tape cannot fix everything. At one point someone decided to repair the linkage between the secondaries with duct tape. There was a grommet missing on the bank 2 side and I guess this was easier than sourcing a new one. I owe a big thank you to Dom for the part #. Being that they are under ten bucks I went and bought some rather than wait for UPS. Maybe this will cure my cel, I'm thinking if the secondaries were never closing properly. Heck if I'm really lucky it'll fix the random stalling too. Fingers crossed Rishad

I bought a set from Rock Auto less than a year ago. They were really easy to change as long as your flexible. I just double checked, they're still available, search for "lift support". Rishad

Ok, so having the car stall on me three times yesterday encouraged me to get my act together. Could you please take a look at my shopping cart contents and see if I've missed anything, or if there is anything additional I should do while I'm in there? I've noticed a bit of seepage from the valve covers so I figured I'd replace those gaskets at the same time. I couldn't find any vacuum fittings on Rock Auto. Does anyone have a part#, or are they a dealership only item? The front crank seal is only included in this purchase to save on shipping. It'll be done at a later time. On another note I found the write up for the intake manifole gaskets in the how-to section, but the pictures no longer seem to be hosted. Does anybody still have them? Thanks guys. I need to start collecting parts so I can do the work when the weather gets a little better. As for the IMRC linkage, I've noticed less kick from the secondaries over the last couple of months, could be related to what you're saying. Are these gromets still available? Thanks Again, Rishad

Hey Guys, My SVT has started throwing a P0174 code (bank 2 lean). I've checked for vacuum leaks, but haven't had luck finding any. Just brainstorming, if this code was indeed caused by a vacuum leak would I not see a DTC for bank 1 as well? I have also noticed that the cel only triggers at idle, never while driving. If any one has some insight it'd be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Rishad

Thanks for the tips Ferret and Spridget. Good news is the car has been running fine since, so it is quite likely that the oil had bled down from sitting. I actually think using the "flood clear mode" to build oil pressure is a great idea. As for the leaks, the last couple of weeks have been pretty dry, but I'll definitely check those areas suggested.

Anyone know where these let out? Trying to ensure mine are clear, and I don't have anything long enough to fish through from the top. Thanks, Rishad

Sorry, haven't been on the site for a bit. I'll check the sunroof drains, thanks for the tips. On another note I went to use the car for the first time in a little over a week, and she knocked like crazy on startup. Turned off right away, and re-fired, and noise was gone but scared the heck outta me. Hope it wasn't foreshadowing something worse to come.

Hey Guys, My Contour has developed a water leak in the front passenger foot well area. It's currently only in heavy rains, I see a trickle of water come out in line with the base of the A pillar. What's freaking me out is that this is where the computer is located. I've checked the cabin filter and cowl area as suggested in other posts, and didn't have any luck. I'm having a heck of a time finding the source. Anyone experienced a similar leak, and if so how did you fix it? Thanks, Rishad

Aussie how long ago did you buy your Bilsteins? I contacted their distributor here in Canada (when I was shopping for struts) and was told they don't make any for the Contour. I run Bilsteins on my Jeep and am very happy with them.
