coolsvt
Terry- From your experience-what gains are had from a jet performance module on a 98 svt 2.5 ho. The site touts a 30 hp gain-I am sceptable about a claim like that. Thoughts? M
spridget
Everytime I've dug a little deeper to find user experiences with JET modules, the overwhelming consensus is that they are worthless. If you are going to spend your money on a chip, go with SCT. Your money will be best spent getting a dyno tune. Take for example Spike's '99 black and tan SVT. With a new 3L installed it dyno'd about 180hp/180tq at the wheels before tuning... that's a considerable increase over the 2.5L (approx 165hp/140tq at the wheels)... but after tuning, he's nearly making 205hp/210tq at the wheels..... That's a true 25hp after tuning.
BuckeyeSVT
Any real tuner will tell you that every car is different and that one chip cannot encompass everything that every car specifically needs to make the same horsepower. For instance, I could build 2 exact cars with the same exact motors with the same exact parts. There is a 98% chance that one motor is going to need something more or less (fuel or ignition) to make the same numbers. Applying the same tune to all cars and calling it a gain of equal horsepower is a myth. Perhaps that one "Test Mule" car they dyno'd and tuned made 25HP, but in real life spending $250-$350 is worthless when a real chip and custom tune to your motor would run about $200 more and you can be sure you are getting the maximum benefits. -Dom
dave43
Don't waste your money, I bought one of those several years ago and the only difference I noticed was that my gas milage went down.
