  1. Here's mine installed. I'm also using the black steering column plastic off the Cougar (direct fit).
  2. I've known for many years Fluoride is bad for human consumption. I use a reverse osmosis water filtration system and do not use toothpaste that contains fluoride. Fluoride absorbs into the body very quickly and once it does, the body never lets go of it. Yes, brushing your teeth and not swallowing does not protect you from the Fluoride as it absorbs through the gums and cheek tissues. Ultimately it winds up in two major places, Bone marrow and brain tissue. There is at least one major medical study that is linking the heavy metal deposits (Fluoride) in the brain tissue to Alzheimer's disease and other neurological disorders. I could go on and on. The internet has a wealth of information about the real dangers of Fluoride, dont take my word for it go and look for yourselves.
  3. Thank you Dom! No other questions for now, will let you know how it turns out for me.
  4. Thank you for answering me. Anyone would assume they are indeed being ignored if 3 months came and went without a word. A simple reply like this is all I really expected. I will wait for your full how-to write up, but could you answer one simple question for me? Did you use a Mondeo sending unit OR were you able to make the fuel readouts work with simply wiring up/modify your existing one? In short, is there some kind of exotic part needed to make the fuel readouts work? With this answered, it would enable me to find and buy whatever non-ordinary part needed ahead of time, having it on hand ready for when you do post the how-to.
  5. Dom, I have been asking you for some kind of a response since the end of January. In all that time, In addition to asking you politely here in this thread I have pm'd you twice as well. My problem with you is not in the fact that you have not shared the information, but in being FLAT OUT IGNORED with no response of any kind for 3+ months. This is a hell of a way to treat someone humbly asking for help. I've even offered to pay you for the information and even that has not warranted a response from you. Would you please weigh in on my request for fuel readout information?
  6. I have a hybrid and the oil capacity is a little different, buts that's because of the slightly deeper Escape oil pan I use. The oil filter is the same for a Escape longblock as it is for the Contour V6 :)
  7. Buller?....... Buller?....... Dom? Could you at weigh in even if it's not what I and others want to hear?
  8. Agreed, not an exact replica but I'm certain Marty could work with the design and tone it down to work optimally on 10.5-11.5 compression.
  9. Have you thought about talking to Marty over at MSDS to see if he's willing to replicate those? The only player in the long tube market is.... err (was) Sean Hyland Motorsports. I have a set of the SHM long tube headers, but it's presumed that SHM wont release the rights to MSDS to make copies of them. What you have is unique and does not have the red tape in reproducing them (assuming Marty would be interested in cracking out some). Sure would be great to have a aftermarket long tube available for the Contour/Cougar once more!
  10. I agree Dom. The main benefit of using the Focus pump is because it is several generations improved (reliability) and does not have the failure problems of the Contour/Cougar fuel pump.
  11. The fuel sock (strainer) on the SVT Focus does not fit well into a Contour fuel tank. I simply removed the fuel sock from bad stock fuel pump, cleaned it thoroughly, and used it on the Focus fuel pump.
  12. Focus SVT pump + Removing the filter disc in Contour assembly = Problem solved
  13. Upgrade for sure. Flows at a max of 255lph (will support much more demanding fuel needs than Contour stock one) and is many revisions revised newer. I'm pretty sure 2000 was the first production year for Ford to use "returnless" fuel systems. The problems that plague the Contour returnless fuel pump are resolved in the much improved Focus SVT fuel pump. I've "never" heard of one of these failing. I replaced my dying original fuel pump of my CSVT with only 35k on it! SVT Focus one works great, I highly recommend it.
  14. Hey Dom, been a few months. Just wanted to check in with you and see if you had a chance to complete the mod? I can tell you the temp sensor instructions from the UK instructions are straightforward and accurate. I understand you want to write up a complete how-to, but many of us already have this mod done. All of us that have a Mondeo trip computer installed have not been able to get the the fuel related readouts to work. To date, you are the only one I know of that has successfully wired up the fuel related readouts. Would you be willing to write a how-to on just the fuel related stuff and when convenient, write the full U.S. how-to instructions as you intend? I for one would be very grateful.
  15. That turned out really nice, the Cougar wheel not only looks nicer but the leather does not turn to mush over time like the Contour one. Would like to see some pics zoomed out to see how it flows with the whole interior.
